About the role
A College of Osteopathic Medicine invites applications for a full-time faculty position in the Department of Osteopathic Principles and Practice (OPP), with a primary focus on a clinical OMM service in hospital and outpatient settings.
We are seeking a passionate educator and clinician who will contribute to the teaching, service, clinical practice, and scholarly missions of the college. This is a non-tenure-track position, with academic rank and salary determined by qualifications and experience.
What you will do
Provide clinical care in outpatient and inpatient OMM settings to maintain clinical proficiency and support student education.
Deliver OPP/OMM instruction across all four years of the DO curriculum, including large- and small-group learning, clinical laboratories, and simulation.
Serve as a Course Director or Co-Director as assigned.
Participate in curriculum development, implementation, assessment, and continuous improvement.
Advise and mentor students academically, professionally, and in research or scholarly activities.
Engage in service to the college and community through committee work, admissions activities, events, and outreach.
Contribute to scholarly activity through research, publications, presentations, or educational innovation.
What we are looking for
DO or MD degree with AOA or ABMS board certification or board eligibility in a designated clinical field; or a terminal degree in a related or academically appropriate area from an accredited institution with demonstrated teaching experience.
Commitment to supporting the mission and vision of the institution.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 applications, including Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel.
Ability to sit or stand for extended periods and to walk and bend intermittently throughout the workday in a university environment with moderate fluctuations in noise and temperature.
Successful completion of required pre-employment drug screening, physical examination, and background check.
Unrestricted certification and/or licensure to teach or practice in the applicable state. For DO or MD candidates, the ability to obtain and maintain an active, unrestricted medical license in the state where clinical activities occur.
Board certification or board eligibility in Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine/Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine (NMM/OMM).
Teaching experience in a College of Osteopathic Medicine or graduate medical education setting.
Experience with innovative teaching approaches, including simulation, team-based learning, and flipped-classroom instruction.
Demonstrated scholarly activity and student mentorship.
Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
Proficiency with instructional technology and electronic health records.
A demonstrated commitment to belongingness, respect, and professionalism in education and clinical practice.
