Assistant Dean of Nursing

The Assistant Dean of Nursing provides academic and operational leadership for Carrington College's Sacramento nursing program, ensuring that curricula remain current and are consistently delivered in an environment conducive to learning, in accordance with College objectives. This individual partners with the Dean of Nursing / Campus Director to uphold accreditation and California Board of Registered Nursing (BRN) standards, develop faculty, and support student success across classroom, lab, and clinical settings.

Provide day-to-day academic and clinical leadership for the nursing program, teaching theory and clinical nursing coursework as needed.

Manage course and clinical scheduling, and lead Program Advisory Committee (PAC) meetings.

Support academic and regulatory reporting, and lead faculty development initiatives.

Ensure ongoing compliance with institutional policy, state board, and accreditation requirements.

Oversee the Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) process for nursing students.

Provide academic advisement and support to nursing students.

Conduct and document instructor evaluations (Learning Effectiveness Observations / LEOs).

Lead accreditation preparation activities and maintain state board of nursing compliance.

Monitor and manage student conduct in classroom, lab, and clinical site settings.

Coordinate and maintain clinical partnership agreements and student clinical placements.

Baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution.

Completion of coursework in teaching methodology, curriculum development, and administration (or willingness to complete per state board requirement).

Current, unencumbered California Registered Nurse (RN) license.

Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience, including at least 1 year of teaching or clinical supervision experience within the last 5 years — OR 3 years of nursing administration/education experience within the last 5 years.
